Helen Padget-Smith and Esme Needham are project managers at our offices in The Maltings. In true SGS Packaging Europe style, they work hard to not only help the business togo from strength to strength, but also apply their passion and creativity into raising funds for worthy causes. Along with many of our colleagues in Hull, the duo recently took part in the Hull 10K. Whilst Esme had run one before (last year’s edition of the event), Helen had previously run five 10K races, two half marathons and eleven 5K-6K races: “I started running two and a half years ago and really got into it. The result is forty races planned for between November 2018 and November 2020.” In preparation for the Hull 10K, Helen and Esme visited the gym together twice a week to focus on cardio and strength training. Danni Monk is a Project Manager at our vibrant offices in The Maltings. Meanwhile, her 14-year-old son Will has been playing rugby league since he was five for the East Hull community team and was selected for the Sentamu Academy Scholarship team when he was eleven. Lee Wardell is an IT Workflow Systems Engineer at our Maltings office in Hull. Like many of our colleagues, he spends his working day carrying out specialist processes to ensure that the company runs smoothly, then focuses some of his spare time on getting involved in exciting fundraising activity. With a Tough Mudder event in Skipton on the horizon, Lee has been busy preparing for a fun and messy day in aid of a worthy cause: “It takes place on Saturday 27 th July and so far there are four of us taking part – me, Will Robinson, Liam Smith and Ryan Lowe. This will be my third Tough Mudder, having done the Midlands edition with Liam and Ryan, and Will completed Total Warrior last year, so we’re no strangers to physical challenges.” The main charity benefitting from the event itself is Help for Heroes, but Lee and his colleagues are also fundraising for The Freedom Stroke Club, which is based in Hull: “They don't receive the same exposure that mainstream chari
