SGS Colleagues Vote to Donate to Mind

We’re sure you’ll remember that back in December, our company’s bank HSBC made an error that resulted in everyone being paid a day late. All of our affected colleagues were very understanding and patient in regards to the delay, which was very much appreciated by our management team. SGS then received a donation of £1,000 from HSBC by way of apology, so we contacted you all to see how you thought it should be spent. Rather than treats and cake, we received an overwhelming response in favour of donating the money to Mind, the mental health organisation and our charity partner for 2020. First of all, we’d like to say how proud we are of you all for being so selfless and community-spirited. Happy Engagement to Karina and Aaron!

There’s always good news to be shared at SGS Packaging Europe, from a new intake of apprentices across our offices, to a team taking part in a charity event, but it’s especially heart-warming when a colleague shares a personal celebration with us. Karina Briggs is a Project Manager at SGS The Maltings, having joined our company back in mid-2018. We were delighted when Karina came to work one day and told everyone that her boyfriend had popped the question. She and Aaron met at Wilberforce College in 2009 whilst taking a two-year course in Media. During this time they worked together on some projects and became good friends, which led to them officially dating in January 2012. Fast forward eight years and Karina is an established team member at SGS whilst Aaron works at a company called Industrial Supplies as a counter sales assistant, carrying out multiple additional roles around the building as well.
