SGS Colleagues Vote to Donate to Mind
We’re sure you’ll remember that back in December, our company’s bank HSBC made an error that resulted in everyone being paid a day late. All of our affected colleagues were very understanding and patient in regards to the delay, which was very much appreciated by our management team.
SGS then received a donation of £1,000 from
HSBC by way of apology, so we contacted you all to see how you thought it
should be spent. Rather than treats and cake, we received an overwhelming
response in favour of donating the money to Mind, the mental health
organisation and our charity partner for 2020.
First of all, we’d like to say how proud we
are of you all for being so selfless and community-spirited. This large sum of
money will go a long way to helping the charity to further develop and deliver
its wide-ranging services, which help people to live happy, healthy lives in
spite of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and PTSD.
Secondly, choosing to further support our
official charity partner shows that you’re invested in our company’s mission to
work together to make a difference. We’re delighted that you chose to take an
active role in our charitable activity and would like to thank everyone for
this kind and selfless act.
As well as donating money to Mind, SGS
Packaging Europe is also working in close collaboration with the charity to
ensure that our working environments are supportive spaces for all staff.
Through specially organised Mental Health Awareness Training and by making
Mind’s services and guidance available to all colleagues, we’re strengthening
our already fantastic company culture and constantly making SGS an even better
place to work.
The cheque will soon be handed over to Mind
and put towards its crucial services, helping people who are in crisis and
showing them that they never have to face a mental health problem alone. Once
again, thanks to everyone for choosing to donate the £1,000 to such a worthy
cause.
