Colleagues Share Photos of Their Lockdown Pups

A few of our colleagues at SGS Bridgehead have recently welcomed furry additions to their households. We caught up with Charly, Adam and Emma to find out more about their lockdown pups.

Charly Marritt‘s new puppy is Albert, a German Shepherd crossed with a husky. Now ten months old, Albert moved into Charly’s home on the 7th of April.

“We've always wanted a dog,” says Charly. “When our housemates moved out with their pooch we had a browse online and we just couldn't say no to the pictures of him. When we visited we made our decision there and then!”

Charly says that the best thing about been in lockdown with a dog is that there’s something else to focus on, such as the extra walks and exercise, and of course the cuddles. Apparently, Albert doesn’t realise how big he is and you never have to ask twice for him to get up on the sofa.

Albert was adopted from his third home. His original owner had him and his brother but unfortunately couldn't look after them anymore. The owner’s daughter picked Albert up and brought him up north, but unfortunately he couldn't stay there either. However, he’s now loving his new home and enjoying a happy life with his owners.

“It has definitely not been easy,” says Charly. “The teenage tantrums are frustrating. But seeing his smile when he has a good cuddle makes it all worth it, even if he does enjoy chasing cats too much.”

Adam Stephenson took home Rolo six weeks ago, who turned thirteen months old last week.

“I love how he wags his tail so vigorously when he sees me,” says Adam. “He gets so excited that the full back half of his body wags.”

Meanwhile, Emma Hall’s new puppy is called Colin. She says that “there’s no significance to that, we just wanted a daft old man human name!”

Colin is a Cavapoo (a cross between a cavalier and a poodle) and is now fourteen weeks old.

“He moved in with us on the 24th of April. He’s not technically a lockdown puppy, as we first met him back in February before lockdown even started. Now that he’s home with us, he has immediately lifted our mood so much in such a tough time. He kept us hopeful during the first month of lockdown, knowing we'd be reunited eventually.”

Emma says that the other day when Colin was out in the garden, he could hear his dinner being prepared. He came running at the patio doors full pelt... but they were closed. Face plant!

“Having a puppy is hard work at times,” adds Emma, “but their unconditional love and passion for life makes their mischievous antics all worthwhile!”

If you have something you’d like to share with us, including your pets and what they get up to, please get in touch via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. We’re sure that our colleagues across the UK and Europe would love to see who’s keeping you company during lockdown.
