Help Bridgehead to Collect Stamps for Charity
SGS Packaging Europe’s many
offices are constantly thinking up great ways to support local and national
charities. From marathons to bake sales, barely a day goes by when there isn’t
something interesting going on in aid of a worthy cause.
Right now our Bridgehead
office is collaborating with an associate at Keyzo IT Solutions to collect used stamps. The Kiloware Stamp
Appeal is in aid of Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe, which provides
high-quality palliative care to people who need it most. Kiloware is a term for
large quantities of postage stamps, with the word adopted for charitable
collections by Blue Peter many years ago. Events like this take place across the
world all year round, but especially during the Christmas period.
The Bridgehead office
recently supported Dove House Hospice in Hull through It's a Knock Out, an enormous inflatable assault course, raising over £740. This time they’ve decided to help a similar
charity on the other side of the River Humber, where many of our team members
live. Just like Dove House, Lindsey Lodge provides valuable end of life care
for people who can't be cured of their life-limiting illness, so anyone who
would like to support Bridgehead’s stamp appeal is very welcome to do so.
It’s all very simple and
getting involved is effortless:
-- Just rip off the corner of the envelope with the stamp on – there’s no need to remove the stamp, as collectors prefer to do this personally.
-- You can either drop off your used stamps at our Bridgehead office or send them in the post (address below).
-- Once the stamps have been handed over to Lindsey Lodge, its team will advertise them online and sell in bundles to collectors.
-- The bigger the bundle, the more they’ll sell for.

Our friend Therisa Thompson from
Keyzo will take all of the stamps to Lindsey Lodge in the New Year, so you
still have a few weeks left to participate. With Christmas cards landing on
everyone’s doormats, we’re sure you’ll have plenty of stamps that you can bring
in. Literally every single one will make the pile that little bit heavier,
meaning more money raised for this crucial organisation.
If you’d like to donate your
used stamps, whether it’s just a couple or an entire envelope full of them, please pop into out
Bridgehead office or send them to SGS Packaging Europe, Orchid Road, Bridgehead
Business Park, Hessle, HU13 0DH. (If you do send them in the post, we’ll make
sure to remove the stamp from the envelope too!)
Fellow SGS Packaging Europe
staff in other offices could save them up in a safe place and then send them
all to Bridgehead in one go. And remember, every donation makes a difference to the
care and wellbeing of a person in need, so don't allow a single stamp to be put in the bin this Christmas.
