Good Things Come in Threes

Image
Whoever said that bad things come in threes obviously never worked at our Bridgehead site! We’ve got a trio of happy announcements to share with you, each of which will surely bring a smile to your face. Amy Nouvellon (pictured above) is an artworker who married her “chubby hubby” Monsieur Emilio Nouvellon on Saturday 14 th  September at the Guildhall, followed by a tour through the city’s most historic streets via the Hull Land Train and a fantastic reception at Humber Street Gallery. “We had an amazing day, but both agreed we wouldn't want to do it again considering the original plan was to elope,” says Amy. “Nevertheless, it was everything we wanted it to be and we put our own spin on the day, plus ‘I'm married’ has become my new catchphrase at work.” She tells us that the wedding night was one to remember, with Emilio enjoying the bar so much that he couldn't even make it to the hotel: “Although, I did enjoy having that huge bed all to myself

Watch Anne-Marie on BBC Songs of Praise

Anne-Marie Hinks Benstead is the Quality Control and Internal Audit Team Lead at our Bridgehead office. Whilst most of our colleagues are spending this weekend relaxing at home, she’s doing something quite unique and very impressive. A member of GChoir , Anne-Marie is performing in the BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of The Year 2019 Final, with the first part shown last weekend and the second taking place this Sunday (24 th November). GChoir is a multi-denominational gospel choir based in the north and directed by founder Helen Garnett, who is a member of BGT semi-finalist group The Garnett Family and was most recently a judge in The 100 on BBC’s All Together Now. Anne-Marie joined GChoir in July 2018 at the very first rehearsal, along with some friends who are also members of Helen’s other choir, All For One. Together they cover a wide range of musical styles, which suits Anne-Marie down to the ground as she’s been singing all of her life in choirs and bands.

Meet Our Apprentices: Jade Howard

Image
Our apprenticeship scheme launched in 2018 and if you work in Hull or Tamworth you will surely have met at least one of our amazing apprentices. Each one is given specific tasks, growth areas and one-to-one mentoring to help them develop specific expertise and transferrable skills, as well as taking part in development days and fun activities to further enhance how they work with colleagues and each other. Jade Howard is 19 years old and had just finished her A-levels at Wyke College before joining us at SGS. She studied Fine Art, History and English Language, working part-time at a farm shop and restaurant. Jade discovered our apprenticeship scheme and recognised that it’s a well organised and structured programme: “I had a keen eye for design and colour, so with SGS being one of the lead companies in innovative packaging, I thought it would be a good opportunity to gain qualifications in print while learning on the job.” As is usually the case
