Good Things Come in Threes

Whoever said that bad things come in threes obviously never worked at our Bridgehead site! We’ve got a trio of happy announcements to share with you, each of which will surely bring a smile to your face.

Amy Nouvellon (pictured above) is an artworker who married her “chubby hubby” Monsieur Emilio Nouvellon on Saturday 14th September at the Guildhall, followed by a tour through the city’s most historic streets via the Hull Land Train and a fantastic reception at Humber Street Gallery.

“We had an amazing day, but both agreed we wouldn't want to do it again considering the original plan was to elope,” says Amy. “Nevertheless, it was everything we wanted it to be and we put our own spin on the day, plus ‘I'm married’ has become my new catchphrase at work.”

She tells us that the wedding night was one to remember, with Emilio enjoying the bar so much that he couldn't even make it to the hotel: “Although, I did enjoy having that huge bed all to myself and would go as far to say that was the best part of my day,” Amy jokes (we hope).

“All in all, it was a fab day and we're living the married life dream!”

Meanwhile, the colleagues of reprographic artworker Kate Houlton were over the moon when they heard that she’s expecting her first child, due on 21st May 2020.

“We don't know if it's a boy or girl, as we’re leaving it to be a surprise,” says Kate. “I’m preparing for the little one by gradually buying bits and pieces here and there. Who knew a tiny little baby would need so many things?”

And then we have Karen Robinson, a project manager whose partner recently popped the question: “His name is Shane and we’ve only been together for 17 months but quickly fell in love. We moved in together in September of this year and now we’re engaged!”

“We’d spoken about getting married not long ago. Then, whilst I was in the USA to see my best friend, he visited my parents to ask their permission and bought a ring (which may I add is absolutely stunning). When I got back home he took me away as a surprise to the Hideout Hotel next to Hull Minster and over to Al Porto on the marina, where he proposed in the traditional manner of getting down on one knee. It was all very romantic and made me one very happy lady.”

Karen and Shane are hoping to get married in 2021 and the preparations have already begun.

We’re so happy to hear this triple-whammy of wonderful news and wish Amy, Kate and Karen all the best for the future.
