Visit the SGS Stand at Tech Expo Humber

The very first Tech Expo Humber will take place at the Bonus Arena on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October, with the mission to connect education and enterprise to create key skills for the future.

This exciting new event will unite tech, talent and enterprise in the Humber, bringing some of the biggest global tech giants to the city. This is in response to the Humber region witnessing unprecedented funding, with over £20bn of investments in the past decade, especially in the areas of cutting-edge technology and digital enterprise. By bringing together numerous companies and organisations that are changing the world through innovation, the expo looks to inspire students into technology and showcase the region’s many successes.

Jonny Winn is the 3D Production Lead at SGS The Maltings. His role entails managing the team and ensuring that everyone is working efficiently to deliver high- quality 3D imagery to a variety of clients. He’s also organising our company’s presence at Tech Expo Humber:

“SGS will be present to discuss the 3D work currently produced in The Maltings and in various other SGS CGI facilities across the globe,” says Jonny. “Our stand will include visual examples of the work produced and allow visitors to explore the imagery in more depth. We welcome any questions and hope to have a chat with many people over the two days.”

Our Maltings branch has several connections to the C4DI, the Centre for Digital Innovation at the heart of Hull’s recently redeveloped Fruit Market. We were approached by Antonio Tombanane, who gauged our interest and found that we were very eager to be part of this fantastic event. Three colleagues will be present on the stand across both days, showcasing SGS services and discussing the future of tech in the region.

“We’ll also have literature to take away, visual demonstrations and one-to-one talks with other industry professionals,” explains Jonny. “Our team are looking forward to discussing anything related to 3D CGI and the service we offer.”

We believe that this event is integral to Hull and the Humber’s continued expansion and progression in all areas of technology and its many applications. Jonny couldn’t agree more: “The region is highly recognised as an epicentre for digital business activity and innovation. It is therefore very important to stage an event to attract high volumes of individuals to our great city, increasing the awareness of Hull and its exemplary work being done in the digital landscape.”

Our colleagues at The Maltings are looking forward to being a part of this technology-fuelled event, as well as interacting with students and potential budding 3D professionals. On top of that, the team can’t wait to rub shoulders with other tech industries within the Humber region, and of course get the opportunity to meet Titan, the giant robot that has performed alongside Will Smith, Rihanna, Jackie Chan and Will.I.Am at events such as New York Fashion Week and the Sochi Winter Olympics.

As well as the stands, there are also all kinds of talks taking place on a huge range of topics, from environmental monitoring to the Girls Who Code movement. If you’re interested in seeing what it’s all about, book your tickets today through the Tech Expo Humber website.
