John Lazenby's Working in NYC

John Lazenby has been with SGS Packaging Europe for two years, having celebrated his second anniversary with us just last week. A QC in Team Brand at our Bridgehead site, his role involves checking reprographics to ensure that the files are print-worthy. The role can also include language checks to make sure that all guidelines are followed, which means that extreme attention to detail is required on a daily basis.

Ashley Bradford, the Site Manager at Bridgehead, recently sent out an email regarding a placement opportunity at the sgsco White Plains offices in New York. John leapt at the chance and is now carrying out important quality control work on the L'Oréal account. He plans to be back in East Yorkshire on Sunday 22nd December so that he can spend Christmas and New Year at home, followed by a return to NYC on Sunday 5th January until the end of the month. What a wonderful way to end one year and begin a new one!

“I first visited New York on holiday in 1988 to see the sights of the Big Apple and I’m enjoying all of the changes that have taken place since then," says John." Already I’ve taken a trip to the MetLife Stadium to watch my first live NFL game, the Jets v Dolphins. Thankfully the home team (Jets) won, so it was a fantastic atmosphere, plus it was nice to see the huge Christmas tree in the Rockefeller Plaza.”

John hadn’t worked with any of the White Plains team via phone or email before arriving in New York, so he’s also getting to meet new people and experience what daily life in the office is like. He’s very much enjoying his time there and we’re delighted that we could offer him this exciting experience to expand his horizons and explore the many opportunities that our company has to offer.

We wish John all the best during his time in the US and can’t wait to hear what else he gets up to whilst there.
